Future4Children strives to empower disadvantaged children by providing them with education, care and support in a loving and stimulating environment.

The organization

Future4Children was established in 2007 in order to provide education and care  for some of the most underprivileged children in the world. It is approved by the Swiss government as an approved tax deductible charity organization.

Future4Children believes that society has the potential to provide satisfying lives for all human beings regardless of gender, race, religion, nationality and/or identity.

Future4Children also believes that humanity itself has created the problems preventing everyone to live fulfilling and satisfying lives, and that education is the key solution to solving these global challenges.

What we do

Although education is the most vital solution to most of our present global problems, about 264 million children are out of school in the world today. A disproportionate number of out-of-school children live in countries that are characterized by instability and/or extreme poverty.

Therefore the focus of Future4Children is to increase the number of children who are in school and to help them overcome the barriers that prevent them from attending, staying and completing basic education.

Future4Children has financed, started and run schools, orphanages and projects with the aim of educating and taking care of poor and out-of-school children around the world.

The founder

Trude Stene is the founder of Future4Children, which she started in 2007. Since then she has devoted her energy and passion to support and to build schools and orphanages around the world.

Before Future4Children, Trude dedicated her life towards helping disadvantaged children by working and travelling 5 years for World Vision, a global charity organisation with programs in more than 100 countries.

Trude has always been interested and involved in social development and humanitarian issues. Born and brought up in Norway she left the country at the age of 17 to attend the United World College in Canada, a United Nation type school with students from close to 100 countries. Thereafter she gained her undergraduate degree from London School of Economics, whereupon an MBA (Master in Business Administration) from INSEAD in France.

After finishing her education, Trude worked in management consulting and also started and ran an internet start-up. One day she was told that she would most likely become blind very quickly. That day she decided that if she would miraculously keep her eyesight she would do something meaningful that would not happen otherwise. Shortly after she was put to the test, she recovered her eyesight and gained a new vision: to improve the world by helping educate disadvantaged children. She sold her company, started working for World Vision to get insight and experience in development work. After 5 years Trude founded Future4Children.
